Strong performances at the World Logging Championship 2026 in Slovenia

The 36th World Logging Championship in Slovenia once again brought sensational success for Austria. With 15 medals – 5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze – the Austrians are the world’s best among the world’s top forestry workers.

With 5,002 points, the Austrian team achieved the highest score ever recorded at a World Logging Championship and were crowned the best team at a World Logging Championship for the seventh time.

Team Austria comprises Markus Buchebner, Jürgen Erlacher, Michael Ramsbacher and Johannes Ertl, as well as the women’s team featuring Carina Modl (2024 World Champion) and Lisa Panzenböck (2025 National Champion).

An overview of the successes:

  • In the men’s professional category, Jürgen Erlacher (Carinthia) took the top spot and was crowned individual world champion across all disciplines.
  • Johannes Ertl (Carinthia) was crowned both individual world champion and U24 world champion with his performance in the ‘de-branching’ event.
  • Lisa Panzenböck (Lower Austria) set the world record in the chain replacement discipline.
  • Carina Modl (Carinthia) was crowned vice-world champion in the women’s overall standings.

We congratulate all participants on these fantastic achievements. Keep up the good work!
