That was the ‚Langer Tag der Energie‘ at Mayr-Melnhof Holz Leoben
On the ‘Langer Tag der Energie’, which took place across Styria on 20 June 2026, Mayr-Melnhof Holz once again invited visitors to take a look behind the scenes.
As part of the Styrian-wide ‘Langer Tag der Energie’ event, interested visitors had the opportunity to tour the pelletising plant and the biomass plant at the Leoben site. This allowed them to experience first-hand how energy is generated from wood.
We use 100 per cent of the valuable timber, because sustainability is in our blood – and that is exactly what we showed our guests:
In the pelletising plant, Gustav Lukanz clearly explained how pellets – an eco-friendly heating fuel – are produced from sawdust and wood shavings. At the biomass cogeneration plant, Tibor Molnar demonstrated how the bark is converted into climate-neutral heat and green electricity.
